Snowy Owl
This mornings early walk was more eventful than usual. Walking up Chapel Carn Brea in West Cornwall, I came across a stunning Snowy Owl.
It was sat on a granite outcrop 15-20m from the path. Then taking off and flying over the ridge. The circular walk took me down to the base of the hill where I again met with this unusual visitor. Who then flew over the car parking area toward Bartinney.
The funny thing was the car park had a gathering of bird watchers, who had all come to see a greater spotted cuckoo. The snowy owl flew straight above them and not one of the spotted it.
This is an incredible place to live, I am used to many encounter with basking sharks, adder's and barn owls. But a snowy owl! fantastic start to the day.
I wonder if they saw the cuckoo?
Tomorrow find's Rupert and I back on Dartmoor, drawing.
